Orion’s Belt Stars, Sword, and the Orion Nebula
This episode of Look! Up in the Sky focuses on Orion’s belt and sword. You will learn the names of the stars that make up Orion’s belt and then how to find the sword. At the midpoint of the sword is the Orion Nebula M42.
The Orion Nebula is best found in very dark skies and is still only a fuzzy patch in the sky. For best results, look at it through binoculars or a telescope if you have access to one. The Orion Nebula is a great first object to find in the sky if you are new to backyard astronomy and just got some binoculars or a telescope.
